I did it! BCCRC Dartmouth Simulator Airfield

Post by jerryn » Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:01 pm

I tested the BCRCC simulator airport with variable winds... I used a simulated model of my Eflite Opterra that I crashed last season.
Now I can practice landing approaches in shifting winds..

Today, I took 4K VR360 shots of the field in South Dartmouth. After stitching the photos together I imported it into realflight 9 and created some
realflight 9 objects in the environment. I set it up with a wind blowing primarily out of the south... to the north like it usually does and configured
the airfield to have variable winds. I also enabled thermals and mad sure the solar glare is where it always is when we fly in the afternoon :)

Here's a video clip.

That is a very good facsimile of the model aircraft field. Real Flight has advanced a lot. I had RF #03.
