Important!: Visiting the Main Flying Site - Flying times and notes...

Post by admin »

(via email)

From the desk of Gerry Dupont, Bristol County Radio Control Club Safety Officer,

Hello All,

After speaking with Dave and Judy Brownell about the absolute condition of our 10:00 AM weekday and 12:00pm weekend flying starting times, as originally stated in our club rules as a precedent set forth by Dave Brownell, let this email serve to remind EVERYONE in this club that these opening times are to firmly adhered to……..NO EXCEPTIONS! This includes all types of aircraft, fuel, gas, electric, gliders, rubber band, etc. (nothing allowed in the air) The reasoning for this is Dave and Judy Brownell allow people to walk onto their property, for sight-seeing, bird watching, or just peaceful contemplation starting from the early hours of the morning with the understanding that the R/C fliers take precedent after the established open flying hours. These “walk-ons” do not disturb the peace and privacy of the Brownell homestead as autos typically aren’t used to access the field by these people.

On that note, another item is the use of motorcycles onto the property. DON'T! Judy is dead set against it so keep this in mind. The last (but not least) item for your awareness is vehicle speed on the laneway from the barn to immediately past the Brownell home. Judy is very intent on having signs made up, essentially stating a 3 to 5 MPH Speed Limit in order to keep the road dust down on drive-thrus . It seems a good deal of it wafts its way into her home, onto furniture, into lungs and it’s not sitting very well with her at all.

With the club's adherence to these limitations and conditions, we can be reasonably assured of the continued use and enjoyment of the club field
for some time to come, all things being equal.

Respectfully,
Gerry Dupont
Club Safety Officer

This map places you near the flying field.....Invited Visitors and Prospective Members:
The field is on Private Property. Absolutely no one should visit this field without the proper windshield Club ID tag and a valid membership card.. If a member invites a friend or client to visit the field, that member will have to meet the visitor by the entrance on Smith Neck Rd.road for escort to the field. This is a valid request from the occupants of the private home entering the flying field. When you reach Google maps Cornell Farm you are in the area.
